Listen to This presents “To Avoid Fainting, Keep Repeating, It's Only a Movie,” an evening of scary movie stories. Featuring stories by Jeff Catanese, Kelli Harrell, Brenda Lilly, and Jennifer Trudrung. Plus songs by Silas Durocher and stand-up comedy from Peter Smith McDowell.

Join Story Parlor and Story Medicine Worldwide for a screening of Spike Jonze’s Her, followed by a facilitated conversation led by local author Meta Commerse about an intimate film asking probing questions through a people's lens.

Thursday, November 9 | The Campfireball!
An immersive storytelling show created live and in the moment out of stories from the audience. No two shows are alike, none will ever be seen again!

Saturday, November 11 | An Evening of Folk Music
Tina and Her Pony take to the stage for an invigorating night of stories and songs.

Sunday, November 12 | Jazz Hybrid Presents: An Evening of Poetry and Music (Low Ticket Alert!)
An intimate evening of poetry and music featuring Kim Addonizio, Danny Caron, and Diamond Forde.

Don’t miss Story Parlor Hour airing on “The Voice of Asheville” — Sundays at 2pm and Wednesdays at 5pm EST — locally on WPVM 103.7 FM, or globally at www.wpvmfm.org. Tune in to experience Story Parlor shows gone by, as well as live interviews with local artists who will soon take to the stage.

This Wednesday’s episode features audio captured from the second half of the September Jazz Hybrid event — an evening of poetry featuring Luke Hankins, Keith Flynn, as well as music from The Dead Poets. (And be sure to grab your tickets the next Jazz Hybrid on November 12 before it sells out!)

We are dedicated to delivering a space that serves the creative community of Asheville. From rehearsal space, workshops, table reads, film screenings, performances, and other intimate events, we have a fully flexible layout at Story Parlor, with rates designed with the artist in mind.
