Writers are often daunted by the idea of reading their work aloud, whether in a classroom situation or public presentation. This workshop will teach writers to prepare and present confident, clear public readings using the same tools employed by professional actors.

Don’t miss Story Parlor Hour airing on “The Voice of Asheville” — Sundays at 2pm and Wednesdays at 5pm EST — locally on WPVM 103.7 FM, or globally at www.wpvmfm.org. Tune in to experience Story Parlor shows gone by, as well as live interviews with local artists who will soon take to the stage.

This evening’s episode features audio captured from Story Parlor’s AVL Revue series, themed, “Back to School,” spotlighting the creative work of local artists including Tikva Kingrea, Talya Reynolds, Hannah and Paul Forrest, and Avery Luft.

We are dedicated to delivering a space that serves the creative community of Asheville. From rehearsal space, workshops, table reads, film screenings, performances, and other intimate events, we have a fully flexible layout at Story Parlor, with rates designed with the artist in mind.
