The holidays, despite their bright lights and jolly jingles, can be a difficult time for many who have suffered loss in their lives. Join Story Parlor for an evening of stories, music, and performance about finding good in the grief, joy in the world, and hope for the holidays.

A seven-week exploration of the creative process, common blocks and obstacles, and ways to kickstart and sustain creative momentum, accompanied by the development of a creative project or idea.

Creativity and the Enneagram
Mondays, Feb. 26-, 2024

(NEW!)|Offered through the Great Smokies Writing Program, this five week course explores ways to utilize the Enneagram personality system to boost
creativity. We will investigate both the individual fears and motivations that the Enneagram teaches, and their intersection with your unique creative process.

Story Lab
Tuesdays, March 5-April 23, 2024

A seven-week exploration of how our personal narrative and lived experiences can inform our creative projects. Classes will range from learning how to mine for material from our own lives, to re-authoring our personal narrative, and finally how to repurpose our stories for creative work in any medium. Appropriate for anyone exploring autobiographical material in a creative setting.

A Note from our Artistic Director on Giving Tuesday

As we find ourselves on the cusp of another year gone by, I am compelled to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has contributed to the vibrancy of our narrative arts space.

Over the past year and a half, Story Parlor has evolved into more than just a physical space—it has become a haven for creativity, a hub for storytellers, poets, and performers to weave their narratives and share their artistry with a captivated audience. Your enthusiasm, passion, and unwavering support have truly shaped Story Parlor into a thriving community where stories come alive, connections are forged, and the arts thrive.

As we continue our journey together, I am reaching out on Giving Tuesday with a humble request to consider making a donation to our space—currently a volunteer run initiative, with our income supporting two main pillars: paying the artists who grace our stage, and covering our operational expenses. We strive to be a space for the community, and by the community, and your donations play a crucial role in maintaining this ethos of communal support.
