Please note we are an unconventional arts venue in that we do not solicit bookings. While we produce our "Story Mixer" and “AVL Revue” series once a month, our space beyond that is completely community-programmed (either through our community rentals or event proposals, the latter being exclusively offered for local acts).
Due to the influx of messages we receive, we will not respond to emails requesting us to book solo music acts or review press kits.
We kindly ask that any artists interested in performing at our space review the expectations outlined on our event proposal page, and then proceed by filling out the appropriate form.
For folks simply interested in renting the space for their own private or ticketed event/workshop/gathering, our rental page can be found here.
Our main floor and bathroom are ADA accessible. Please note that except for service animals, no animals are allowed.
PARKING
Welcome to West Asheville, where the people are eclectic, the arts are thriving, and the parking leaves much to be desired. While we love our darling space, we like to let our friends know to plan accordingly when coming to visit. There are two paid lots within a five block vicinity (download the ParkMobile app here), and free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Luckily, you can always grab a hot taco from Taco Billy or a cold pint from Archetype on your stroll over to the Parlor!
Please be considerate of our neighbors (including not parking in the surrounding lots belonging to other businesses) and heed any parking signs, regulations, and/or fees. Story Parlor is not responsible for parking tickets or towed vehicles.
As of summer 2024, we are delighted to be partnering with our lovely friends across the street at Cooperative Coffee Roasters, who are generously sharing their lot with Story Parlor patrons AFTER HOURS (4pm and on). Please heed any signs in case of a special event (we’ll do our best to alert ticket holders of any parking exclusions), and do NOT park in the cafe lot during their business hours (7am-4pm).
