MISSY BELL

Missy Bell, Community Outreach Coordinator, is privileged to be a part of Story Parlor's Team. She holds a Master of Arts in Creativity Studies from Union Institute and University with a concentration in Adolescent Development, alongside a BA in English Literature and Secondary Education from Messiah University (formerly Messiah College). She landed at Story Parlor after living multiple other dreams: Theatre Teacher at Chopticon High School (St. Mary's County Schools, Maryland), Founding Member of The Black Market Theatre Company (Mechanicsburg, PA), Founding Member and Board Secretary at the Newtowne Players, School Bus Full-Timer, Homeschool Mom (18 years), Creative Director of Artsvine (monthly online arts publication), Board Secretary for Anam Cara Theatre Company (Asheville, NC), Member of Accordion Time Machine (Anam Cara's Avant-Garde Theatre Ensemble), stage director of over fifty theatrical productions, and Mentoring Director with the Montford Moppets.

Currently, Missy spends most of her time in the film industry as a director, making films about people who are ready to step off the ledge. Her latest feature film, Erased, is currently on the festival circuit and will premiere in Asheville this August (2026) at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts. In addition to this feature, her resume includes 14 award winning short films. When she isn't at Story Parlor, she runs her own creative village: Mouse House Productions - creating efflorescent films about metamorphic human journeys.

In the life that borders the creative grind, Missy enjoys hiking, kayaking, watching turtles, drinking coffee with friends, and building intentional community.
