Hand of Silver, Poisoned Eye: Stories from the Cath Maige Tuired

  • Story Parlor 227 Haywood Road Asheville, NC, 28806 United States (map)

The Cath Maige Tuired is rich, powerful cycle of stories that explore themes of jealousy, loss, identity, belonging, and relationality with the land we live on. Sacred wells, powerful plants, and shapeshifting ancestors come to life to remind us that we are not alone in time, however terrifying the present moment may be.

In depth storytelling, ancient myths and tales are interwoven with music, poetry, and questions for the listener so that we can reflect on and embody the story, quilting it to the present moment and finding echoes of ourselves within it.

This event will be a fundraiser for the Once and Future Forest, whose mission is to germinate seeds from the remaining mother trees of the Irish forest and plant them along the route of a bronze age pilgrimage trail that traverses the breadth of Ireland.

Come be enchanted by story and old-growth conversation on this autumnal equinox.
