Thursday, January 29 | Come out and see some of the best improv teams in the region perform at Story Parlor in West Asheville on either a 6:30pm or 8:30pm show. Each show will feature four improv teams creating comedy magic in the intimate setting Story Parlor is famous for. Long-running reading series, Juniper Bends, presents an evening of poetry and music featuring local and visiting artists. This quarter’s theme: Metamorphosis and Transformation.

Story Parlor veteran Mica Sun brings unfolding mythology with performance, music, poetry, and oral storytelling tradition together in a shared journey exploring purpose, place, and the mythic in the modern moment. Expect to sing some, be captivated, challenged, moved to tears and laughter and sit back and enjoy a good show. 

The anthology collects work by Appalachian poets responding to the devastating flood Helene brought to the High Country.
