This summer, Friday nights at Story Parlor are for live music.
We’re hosting a weekly summer music series featuring local bands and musicians playing full sets in our listening room — from singer-songwriters and folk acts to experimental sounds, indie bands, jazz, bluegrass, and beyond.
Expect intimate performances, good drinks, and the kind of atmosphere where the music is actually meant to be listened to.
No advance tickets — just $10 at the door.
Seating is first come, first served, so come early, settle in, and stay awhile.

Melissa & McKinney are regulars in the Asheville Music Scene. In addition to being musicians, both are music educators and have been deeply involved in creative Cultural Arts programming most of their lives. McKinney just graduated from UNCA and released her debut album, Bones. Her mom, Melissa just won 2nd place in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN with her band MAMA. They also won the Merlefest band Competition in 2025. When they come together for a show, you know you are going to leave with a smile on your face, and your heart filled up. Join us for an evening of original music, the songs that inspired them, and the stories that built them.
