Join this seven-week deep-dive into the power of personal story as a basis for strong, authentic fiction.  Participants will be challenged to know their truth and how they want to say it.  Then, through a series of interactive workshops and exercises will learn how to imbue that truth into fictional characters in  invented worlds.  With fiction as cover, the writer is free to explore the truth without consequences.

  • A certified Inward & Artward Creative Facilitator, R. Lyon Bergh is a writer, actor, and filmmaker currently living and creating in Asheville, NC. He (or she) expresses creative storytelling through poetry, song, short & long-form prose, short & long-form screenwriting, oral storytelling, comedy improv, and just about any other way that (s)he can find. • Participants can expect an interactive experience that will safely unlock the vulnerable truths of our individual and collective experience. Regardless of whether these experiences were joyful, wounding, terrifying, heroic, or personally challenging, the wisdom they carry can be brought truthfully to others through the protective cover of fiction. We will play, and through make-believe, show our true selves.

    This is for:

    • Artists of all mediums

    • Those who have a deeply personal story to tell

    • Storytellers with a desire to reach audiences with truth

  • "With gusto and grace, Lyon immerses participants in the power of multi-sensory meaning-making. From song and videoto costumes and the written word, I was transfixed by the joy of responding to the creative impulse and relaxed in the laughter of playful connections.”

“Lyon is a true visionary and creative steward. With a depth of knowledge infused by an insatiable curiosity, Lyon’s offerings yield an air of alchemy that naturally lead participants to unlock the wisdom already within them.”
