This full-bodied, approachable poetry class will guide you from "Ooof, poetry" to "Where's my journal?!" by cultivating attention. We'll take notice of neon color palettes, everyday coffee-shop conversation, rhythmic twitches in the body, the gruff and warm-hearted voice of life, and see what happens when we revolutionize those notice-ings into language. Weaving together exploration of poetic elements + form, guided discussion, and past poetic works to create a multidisciplinary play space (we'll have a good ole time)! Plus, oodles (oodles!) of writing time to build personal confidence and craft. This class immerses itself in artful experimentation and skill building. It's the ultimate permission slip to be a beginner or to rediscover.
