STORIES UNTOLD (Working Title): Art as a Path to Self Discovery

  • Story Parlor 227A Haywood Road Asheville, NC, 28806 United States (map)

Saturday | Aug 2nd, 2025 | 1:30pm - 3:30pm

In this trauma-informed, process-centered workshop, we’ll journey together into the stories that often go untold—grief that lingers in the body, transitions we never fully named, identities shaped by silence or survival. Through guided watercolor painting, reflective group dialogue, artist and facilitator Punam Medina creates a space where you can gently reconnect with your inner self and honor the layered experiences that shape who you are. This experience weaves mindfulness, creative exploration, and narrative reflection to support grounding, emotional release, and deeper insight. No art experience is necessary—this isn’t about skill or perfection; it’s about honoring your truth and giving it shape through color, texture, and story. Participants will:

Create visual stories that reflect emotion, memory, and transformation

  • Use watercolor and journaling techniques to support healing and self-inquiry

  • Build tools for emotional regulation and creative confidence

  • Explore resilience and self-compassion in a supportive community

  • Leave with a completed piece of art and practices to continue your reflection beyond the workshop.
