If you’ve ever thought about or have already dabbled in Stand-Up Comedy but were held back due to fear of failure (or success), imposter syndrome or plain old writers' block, this workshop is for you. In this workshop you’ll build 5 strong minutes whether you had it already or must build it from scratch by receiving feedback from Asheville based Comedian Becca Steinhoff and rotating trusted comedian friends.
In this course, Becca combines nearly 2 decades of stand up experience & gems from “The Artists’ Way” and “Comedy Joke Writing” into a packed 5 weeks of workshop and comedy science education. Finish the workshop strong and showcase what you’ve learned in a donation based Graduation show for participants friends & family, with proceeds going to World Central Kitchen.

If you mix a New Jersey dryness with a Southern Appalachian sensibility and add a touch of Jewish guilt, you get the humor that is Becca Steinhoff.
Her warm sarcasm and quick wit shows through in her easily annoyed yet buoyant perspective on everyday human interaction. Becca's ease and appeal has been showcased at events including the Asheville Comedy Festival, clubs such as the DC Improv, and venues such as the historic Howard Theatre and the Orange Peel.
Becca has been teaching Stand Up 101 since 2019, been doing stand up since 2007 and has a vested interest in making sure the audience members of Asheville NC experience high quality stand up at every show they attend.
Becca has also supported the curriculum and structure of other comedy classes in DC for the "underrepresented genders" incubator and in addition to teaching classes, serves several clients as a comedy coach.
