Featuring…

  • Although he has been making music for over a decade, Daniel is relatively new to the classical guitar. He spent a year in Spain (2020/21) where he fell in love with the sound of nylon strings. So in love, in fact, that he decided to compose a collection of solo guitar pieces that reflect the essence of each Spanish city he visited. Since then, he has begun studying the classical repertoire more closely to help develop his own compositions. What you will hear in this performance is a combination of his original pieces and some of the repertoire that influenced those compositions.

  • Jake Mossman was raised in Northern NM and took up the guitar at an early age. He played in both R&B and Rock bands and drew inspiration from a wide variety of music before focusing on Classical and Flamenco guitar. While completing a BFA in Classical Guitar Performance with Michael Chapdelaine at the University of New Mexico, Jake was exposed to the tremendous power of Flamenco at the annual International Flamenco Festival produced by the Eve Enciñas Sandoval in Albuquerque and through the Flamenco productions of Maria Benitez in Santa Fe. After several years of accompanying dancers and singers in NM and studying in Spain, he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he studied with Adam del Monte and taught Flamenco at Pasadena City College. During a subsequent trip to Spain, Jake met his wife, Salomé, and together they lived in Las Cruces, NM from 2005-2021. While living in Las Cruces, NM, Jake produced Flamenco Fridays, a popular monthly Flamenco concert series in coordination with New Mexico State University and The Ramada, which featured renowned Flamenco artists from the US and Spain. Jake now lives outside of Asheville, NC where he shares the art of Flamenco and collaborates with local and National artists in productions spanning many styles. In addition to Classical compositions and repertoire, Jake is always working on original Flamenco compositions, and produced an original Flamenco CD entitled Hefesto.
