Loss reshapes the ways we live, at times fundamentally placing us face to face with death and at other times subtly working on our internal landscapes as we navigate relationships, identities, and ways of being. We each encounter moments where life asks us to look at its shadow--moments when we, inevitably, are given the question, in the face of loss, how do we want to live? These writers explore that question and invite you to explore it with them.

zehl elizabeth has spent the past decade in asheville, caregiving and contemplating human health. she is interested in photography, generational healing, and the similarities between birth and death.
amanda james is a nc native and her art is inspired by her decade as a journalist, her time as a wilderness therapy field guide in a mental health center, and being a middle child. she has tried on many lives from stand up comedy in new york to working at a non profit in cambodia and is currently in her favorite one, working as a mushroom farmer.
lily james and oliver finch are new friends in a new band. they blend soft guitar sounds and harmonic vocal melodies with the unfortunately honest delivery of a couple of expert sad sacks.
will bahr is a freelance writer, musician and gravedigger living in asheville, NC because he failed to make it as a hollywood starlet with a dream in his heart. he graduated with a degree in creative writing from warren wilson in 2019, which is why he now digs graves for a living. his work has appeared in usa today, los angeles magazine and gq. https://www.gq.com/contributor/will-bahr
taylor "tikva" kingrea is a writer, art teacher, and general scallywag about town carrying the intention to build connection via making things together. she has degrees in creative writing and psychology, revels in a giggly rant, and has a dessert after every meal.
