What if grade-school Show & Tell grew up, got a little weirder, and added a creative twist? Join us for Story Parlor's most low-stakes storytelling-meets-creativity session designed for people who have cool stuff they want to talk about.
We'll start out with a classic round of Show & Tell -- each person has a couple minutes to talk about an object they brought that has a unique story or meaning for them. Think a weird figurine you thrifted that's definitely haunted, or something you own and want an excuse to nerd out on.
Then we'll move into a creative session. You’ll have time to free-write or draw something inspired by one of the objects or stories shared -- a key word, a setting, a feeling. You could turn it into a poem, dialogue, fake ad, comic, doodle, etc.
At the end, we’ll open the floor for anyone who wants to share what they've created, but there's zero pressure to share.
Bring your object & your curiosity. This is designed to be a low-key, playful way to come together and nerd out on our unique interests while stretching our creative muscles.
Please do not bring animals, sharp objects, sex toys, or anything we'll have to later add to this list.

The idea for this offering came while talking to her candle about her sincere desire for a space where folks with varied interests could gather regularly to connect and be curious, and to remember that creativity doesn't have to be so serious.
