We all have personal stories to tell, but getting started can be one of the biggest challenges. This Introduction to Memoir Writing Workshop, for writers of all experience levels, explores the many forms of memoir available— including flash (short form), essays, poetry, a collection of linked stories, and book-length memoir.
Plus, as we head into the holiday season—where family gatherings can be sources for personal narrative—prepare yourself with tools to gather stories and research for your writing pieces!
The course will include group discussions, selected readings to support the workshop and inspire creativity, in-class writing prompts and exercises, optional take-home assignments, and support and feedback.
